Uniform

Please try to ensure that your child wears correct school uniform to school.

It is particularly important that children do not wear shoes that may be dangerous during the course of normal school activities. Children should have a change of shoes for use during PE lessons.

School Uniform

  • Black shoes
  • Grey trousers, shorts or skirt
  • White polo or shirt
  • Purple St Peter’s jumper or cardigan (with or without St Peter's logo)
  • Purple gingham dress

PE Kit

Black shorts, black jogging bottoms, plain t-shirt, trainers and daps and a warm sweatshirt for outdoor PE.

Shoes

Shoes should have low heels and be suitable for school activities.  We encourage children to wear sunhats or caps in the summer. Children go out to play when it is cold, they should have a coat at school for most of the year.

Coats / Sun Hats

Children should have appropriate protection from the weather in school at all times.  If the weather is cold or wet, your child should have a coat, and if it is hot, they should have a sun hat and sun cream applied before school.  Please name all items of clothing.

Cloakrooms

Our cloakrooms are small and compact so it is better if children do not bring large bags into school. Children need only a book bag (which can be purchased from the school office for £3.50 each.)  Please label all clothes that could be taken off with your child’s full name - including socks and shoes.

Purchasing Uniform

St Peter’s have adopted a practical, money-saving approach to school uniform that benefits all parents and particularly those from low-income backgrounds.  For example, the majority of our uniform items are available from high street shops, the only specialist item requiring the school logo are the purple school jumper / cardigan.

These are available from;  Scholars, 68 Market Place Chippenham, SN15 3HG: tel 01249 656600.

Friends of St Peter’s Academy (FOSPA) also hold regular sales of good quality second hand uniform or you can email your requests to the office who will see if FOSPA can assist. Children who are entitled to free school meals may be entitled to financial help towards school uniform.
